Islamabad (Web Desk): A high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, will engage in talks with the Afghan Taliban in Doha, Qatar on Saturday (today.)

The meeting aims to explore immediate steps to curb cross-border terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan and to restore calm along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

In a statement, the Foreign Office (FO) said “Pakistan does not seek escalation but urges the Afghan Taliban authorities to honour their commitments to the international community and address Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns by taking verifiable action against terrorist entities, including the FAK/TTP and FAH/BLA,”

The FO added that Pakistan appreciated the mediation efforts of Qatar and hoped these discussions contribute to peace and stability in the region.
