Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated the consultation process for the 2025-26 Central Contracts. Sources indicate that changes are expected in the categories of the 27 players who currently hold central contracts.
According to sources, the categories of senior cricketers Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi will be reviewed. Players such as Saud Shakil, Salman Ali Agha, Nauman Ali, and Sajid Khan are likely to be promoted in the new contract cycle.
The performances of Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Shan Masood are also under review. Additionally, Fakhar Zaman, Hassan Ali, and Faheem Ashraf are expected to be offered central contracts.
Sources also suggest that due to his recent exceptional performances, Saif Zada Farhan might be included in the central contract list. Moreover, domestic cricket performers will likely be included in Category D.
This will be the final year of the current three-year central contract cycle. The financial structure for the three-year contracts was approved during the tenure of Zaka Ashraf in 2023.
