In phone call with Kuwaiti FM, DPM Dar stresses upholding ceasefire commitments under Islamabad MoU

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke by telephone with Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as the two sides exchanged views on the evolving security situation across the region.

During the conversation, DPM Dar called for immediate efforts to ease tensions, stressing that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of every country must be fully respected.

He said safeguarding regional peace and stability should remain the overriding objective for all parties involved.

DPM Dar further emphasized the need to honour the ceasefire commitments outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), warning that any move capable of intensifying the situation should be avoided. 

Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed Kuwait's deep concern over the continued attacks targeting its territory. He expressed hope that all sides would demonstrate restraint and ensure the full implementation of the Islamabad MoU to prevent further deterioration.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister also commended Pakistan for its constructive approach and diplomatic efforts aimed at encouraging dialogue and reinforcing stability across the region.

The two leaders also agreed to maintain regular communication and continue consultations on matters of shared interest.
