Lahore (Web Desk): High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to deepen bilateral ties, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration in trade, industry, and agriculture.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz commended Bangladesh for its notable strides in sectors such as garment manufacturing, microfinance, and the active role of women in its workforce.

She expressed interest in fostering joint efforts under Punjab’s “Women First” initiative, particularly in areas that support women-led industrial zones and digital skills training.

The Punjab CM emphasized the promising scope for cooperation between Punjab and Bangladesh in agriculture and food security, underscoring the mutual benefits of sharing expertise and resources in these key areas.
