Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has reiterate his demand for early elections after his party has emerged victorious and bagged 15 out of 20 seats in the by-polls in Punjab on July 17.

Backed by the allied parties, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) could win only four seats in the hotly-contested by-elections in the province.

Taking to Twitter following the polling results, the PTI chief wrote, "The only way forward from here is to hold fair & free elections under a credible ECP", he said, adding that any other path will only lead to greater political uncertainty and further economic chaos.

Imran Khan congratulated party workers and allies for defeating the PML-N.

Meanwhile, the PML-N has conceded defeat in the election.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that her party should accept results of Punjab’s by-polls with an open heart and concede to the decision of masses.

It is pertinent to mention that the 20 seats of Punjab Assembly fell vacant after the ECP de-seated the PTI lawmakers for voting for PML-N's candidate Hamza Shehbaz in election for the chief minister’s slot.
