Four security personnel martyred in terrorist attack from across Pak-Iran border

Rawalpindi Web Desk): Four security personnel were martyred while thwarting a terrorist activity from across Pakistan-Iran Border in Chukab Sector of District Panjgur in Balochistan, the military's media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) the incident took place when terrorists from across the Pakistan-Iran border targeted a convoy of security personnel patrolling along the divide in the Chukab area of Balochistan's Panjgur district.

The statement added that the terrorists used Iranian soil to target a convoy of security forces patrolling along the border.

The martyred security personnel were identified as Sepoy Asad Ali 25, resident of Hamrota village, Tehsil Baloch District Sudhnoti, Lance Naik Fareed Ullah Khan 29, resident of Pahar Khel Pakka village in Lakki Marwat, Lance Naik Abdul Razzaq 31, resident of Khawha Khel Lakki village of Lakki Marwat and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas Khan 24, resident of Bachakhan Ahmed Zai tehsil of Lakki Marwat district.

"The Iranian side was asked to hunt down the terrorists on their side," the ISPR statement said.

Earlier today, the security forces killed at least four terrorists after a heavy fire exchange during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Balochistan's Hoshab area.

As per the statement by the military's media wing, the operation was initiated to clear a hideout of terrorists, linked with firing incidents on security forces and civilians besides planting of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on M-8, in general area Talsar, Hoshab.

"As a result of continuous Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) of the area, a location of the terrorists was identified and security forces were given task to take action," the statement said.

The statement added that the terrorists opened fire after troops were inserted via helicopters and were establishing blocking positions to cut the escape routes.

"During ensuing heavy exchange of fire, all four terrorists were killed, while a cache of arms and ammunition including IEDs was also recovered," the ISPR said.
