Rawalpindi: A special court in Rawalpindi on Monday approved the post-arrest bail of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in a graft case against a surety bond of Rs200,000.
Fawad was arrested in November and initially remanded in police custody for two days in connection with an August 2022 case, where he was alleged to have accepted a Rs5 million bribe from a citizen.
Last week, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested the former federal minister in another corruption case.
The development comes after NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt signed an arrest warrant for Chaudhry.
