Riyadh (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday landed in Riyadh on an official trip to Saudi Arabia following an invitation from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
On his arrival at King Khalid Airport, he and his delegation were greeted with warmth by Riyadh’s Deputy Governor Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Pakistan’s envoy to the Kingdom Ahmad Farooq, along with senior Saudi diplomats.
To mark the occasion, Pakistani flags were displayed across the city. The Prime Minister was honored with a 21-gun salute, while a contingent of Saudi forces extended a ceremonial guard of honour.
PM Shehbaz scheduled to head to the Royal Court at Al-Yamamah Palace, where Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will host a formal reception for him and his delegation.
During their discussions, the two leaders will take stock of the overall relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and share perspectives on regional and global developments of mutual interest.
The visit is anticipated to bring about meaningful progress in broadening cooperation in multiple fields, reaffirming the mutual commitment to further strengthen the close and historic bond between the two brotherly nations.
The engagements are likely to lead to new avenues of cooperation across various sectors, reaffirming the shared resolve to deepen the longstanding brotherly partnership.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO), Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always enjoyed a relationship rooted in faith, trust, and shared values.
“The visit of the Prime Minister will provide an important opportunity to the two leaders to consolidate this unique partnership, while exploring new avenues of collaboration, for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” the statement said.
