Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued a written order regarding stopping Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri from carrying out judicial responsibilities in the fake degree case.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan have issued a 2-page order to stop Justice Tariq Jahangiri from working.

It made clear that Justice Jahangiri will remain barred from work until the Supreme Judicial Council announces its decision.

According to the written order, the matter carries delicate points, including a question about the judge’s competence.

The court mentioned that a complaint against Justice Jahangiri is already pending before the Supreme Judicial Council, and until its outcome, he cannot continue judicial work.

The bench further summoned legal assistance from the Attorney General of Pakistan and the Advocate General of Islamabad for October 21.

It also accepted the request of another petitioner who had sought to be included as a party in the case.
