Pakistan facilitates repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals, says DPM Dar

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan is facilitating the repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals, including fishermen rescued at sea and crew members recently intercepted by US authorities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said on X that the group includes eight Iranian fishermen who were rescued at sea by the British vessel MMA Valour after their boat ran aground.

He added that the repatriation also includes 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, which was recently intercepted by US authorities.

According to Ishaq Dar, both groups are expected to transit through Karachi in the coming days.

He further stated that Pakistan is maintaining close coordination with Iranian, US, and UK authorities to ensure the safe transit and timely return of the nationals to Iran.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to humanitarian cooperation and will continue to extend all possible assistance in such matters.
