Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that G7 countries are satisfied with the agreement reached with Iran.

Speaking to the media at the conclusion of the G7 summit, Trump, accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, said member nations had been briefed on the details of the Iran deal and welcomed the development.

The US president stated that he wanted to avoid any disruption to the global economy, adding that the Strait of Hormuz could have remained closed had the agreement not been reached.

Commenting on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said that while Netanyahu can sometimes be emotional in his reactions, he has remained a reliable ally.

Trump further said that the United States would remove and neutralize Iran’s enriched nuclear material to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons and to avert potential global security threats.

According to Trump, Iran has agreed neither to develop nor acquire nuclear weapons under the terms of the understanding.

He also revealed that a copy of the memorandum of understanding had been shared with Israel.
