Kabul (Web Desk): The Taliban government in Afghanistan is facing one diplomatic setback after another, largely due to its intransigence and hardline policies.

According to International media reports, many countries continue to criticize the group’s extremist ideology and ongoing support for militancy, leaving Kabul increasingly isolated on the international stage.

As per the reports from Ariana News and Afghan International, citing Russian official Zamir Kabulov, there has been no communication between Russia and the United States (US) regarding Afghanistan this year, and no meetings are currently planned. Direct negotiations between the two powers on Afghan affairs have yet to take place.

At the same time, following the deportation of Afghan nationals by several countries, the US has also refused to accept more refugees from Afghanistan.

Middle East Eye reported that the Trump administration decided to close a resettlement camp in Qatar that had been established to accommodate over a thousand Afghan citizens moving to the US.

Several host countries have already introduced visa restrictions and carried out deportations in response to criminal incidents involving Afghan residents.

Experts say the Taliban’s continued backing of terrorist organisations has further deepened its isolation on the global stage, leaving the regime without much diplomatic support.
