Islamabad (Web Desk): Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised the efforts of Mohsin Naqvi in securing the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to a private news channel, Gandapur highlighted Naqvi’s pivotal role, stating, “Mohsin Naqvi is the only person who can speak before the Field Marshal,” adding that he had even directly approached the Field Marshal to negotiate Khan’s release.
Gandapur emphasized that Naqvi worked tirelessly to resolve the matter and played a significant part in facilitating Khan’s freedom.
He also reflected on earlier disagreements between Naqvi and the PTI, including himself, acknowledging that the party had been displeased with Naqvi’s approach. “Imran was upset with him at the time, but I now recognize the role Naqvi played in trying to address and resolve the situation,” Gandapur said.
Meanwhile, the opposition alliance’s sit-in demanding Khan’s hospital transfer entered its fifth consecutive day. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed opposition movement, Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan (TTAP), has decided to continue its protest outside Parliament House to ensure that Khan receives proper medical care.
Opposition Leader in Senate Allama Raja Nasir stated that the "sit-in should continue until one of our officials is able to meet Imran Khan.”
Gandapur further said that PTI leaders would continue their protest outside the KP House, aiming to exert pressure on the government regarding Khan’s release and access to adequate healthcare facilities.
