Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has announced that its airspace will remain closed to Indian aircraft for another month, with the restriction now extended until January 24, 2026, according to a Notam issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Wednesday.
The updated notice specifies that the ban, effective from December 16, 2025, through January 24, 2026 (PST), covers all aircraft owned, operated, or leased by Indian entities, including military flights.
The PAA described this move as a continuation of a measure that has been in place for the past eight months.
The initial closure of Pakistan’s airspace to Indian airlines was a reciprocal response to New Delhi’s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, a decision taken amid escalating tensions following the deadly attack in Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
It is pertinent to mention that with this latest extension, Pakistan’s airspace has now been closed to Indian aircraft for a total of 210 days.
