Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The security forces killed four Khwarij in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP), the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on 16 April 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan District on reported presence of Khwarij.
The statement said that during the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, as a result of which, four khwarij were sent to hell.
“However, during intense fire exchange, one brave son of soil, Sepoy Basit Siddique (age: 23 years, resident of District Attock), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat,” the statement said.
It added that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The military’s media wing said that sanitization operation was being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area.
“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan district.
In their separate messages, the president and the premier appreciated the security forces for killing four Khawarij in the operation.
They also paid tribute to the Sepoy Basit Siddiqui who embraced martyrdom in the operation and said that nation will always remember the sacrifices of their martyrs.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the bravery of security forces during the intelligence-based operation to eliminate the terrorists of Fitna al Khawarij.
He paid tribute to sepoy Basit Siddique for embracing martyrdom during the operation.
“The nation will always remember the sacrifices of its brave martyrs,” the president said.
He commended the valour and patriotism of the brave martyrs of Pakistan army.
President Zardari expressed sympathy with the heirs of the martyrs and prayed for the grant of patience to them.
He said security forces will continue their operations till the complete elimination of terrorism.
“We will continue to have an unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorist elements and for the defence of the nation,” the president added.
President Zardari said that the nation is determined to the complete eradication of Fitna al Khawarij.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the security forces for their bravery during the intelligence-based operation to eliminate the terrorists of Fitna al Khawarij.
He paid tribute to sepoy Basit Siddique for embracing martyrdom during the operation.
The prime minister also vowed to eliminate all forms and manifestation of terrorism in the country.
