Riyadh (Web Desk): The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly denounced the attacks carried out by the Houthi group against Makkah and the Madinah region, as well as its continued aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat said such attacks spread fear among innocent civilians, violate the sanctity of Islam’s holy sites and mosques, and hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the world.

It said the actions of the Houthi militia targeting sacred places, mosques and civilian infrastructure amount to terrorism and are incompatible with Islamic values as well as international laws, principles and norms.

The OIC stressed that any violation of the sanctity of holy sites is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated, calling for measures to hold those responsible accountable and prevent any further attempts to target or violate these sacred places.

The General Secretariat reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for all measures aimed at deterring aggression, safeguarding the holy sites and protecting the lives of Muslims, while preserving the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.
