Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government on Tuesday announced a fresh increase in fuel prices, pushing up the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs4.10 and Rs6.41 per litre, respectively.
Officials attributed the adjustment to movements in global crude oil markets.
With the new rates in effect, petrol will cost Rs384.34 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been priced at Rs415.83 per litre.
A notification issued by the Petroleum Division stated that the revised prices would apply for September 16.
Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has started uploading petroleum prices on a daily basis to its website.
The initiative is intended to promote greater transparency and enable fluctuations in international oil prices to be reflected in domestic fuel rates more swiftly.
