Quetta (Web Desk): Balochistan’s Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Sarfraz Chakar Domki passed away in Karachi on Monday.
According to reports, the provincial minister was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi for the past ten days. He was suffering from lung and kidney ailments.
Sarfaraz Chakar Domki will be laid to rest in his native town of Lahri, his family sources said.
Sarfraz Chakar Domki was elected as a Member of the Balochistan Assembly from PB-8 Sibi on a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket in February 8, 2024 General Elections.
He was a chief of Domki tribe and had been a member of the Balochistan Assembly from August 2018 to August 2023. Previously, he served as Provincial Minister of Balochistan for Culture, Archives and Tourism, from 30 August 2018 to 8 September 2018.
President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed grief over the death of Balochistan Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Mir Sarfaraz Chakar Domki.
The president lauded the political services of the late Mir Sarfaraz Domki and expressed his sympathies for the bereaved family.
He also prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep grief over the death of Sardar Sarfaraz Chakar Domki.
“By the death of Sardar Sarfaraz Domki, Balochistan’s politics has become bereft of an intellectual and a seasoned politician. We share the grief of his family,” the prime minister said.
He prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed his grief and sorrow over the death of the provincial minister, sayying that the deceased was a shrewd, reliable politician and a tribal figure.
"Sarfraz Chakar Domki always played a positive role in the political and tribal system of Balochistan and was an active member of the Balochistan cabinet," Balochistan CM said.
Meanwhile, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah also expressed grief over death of Sarfraz Domki.
"Sarfaraz's services for PPP will always be remembered, Murad Ali Shah said.
