Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Security Committee (NSC) on Tuesday expressed solidarity with the armed forces and vowed to take strict action against those involved in the violent protests of May 9.
Addressing the forum, PM Shehbaz vowed that the planners and leaders of the May 9 events, who attacked military installations and “disrespected our martyrs”, will be punished and brought to justice.
He said goons of a political party attacked military installations, including the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, Jinnah House Lahore, FC Camp in Quetta, and other public property.
"Jinnah House is not just a building, it housed the sons that protected Pakistan. But they destroyed it, in fact, reduced it to ashes.”
The premier said that “All of us are compelled to think that what was the ideology, group or person behind setting on fire the love of Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz said that these people inflicted harmed the country that our enemy even could not think of in 75 years.
He said that these acts of vandalism are not less than terrorism, which have brought shame to the entire nation.
The premier said that our nation of 22 billion has demanded that those who are sinful, in any regard, should be punished so that such an incident does not take place ever again.
PM Shehbaz said he has directed that innocent people should not be touched but culprits involved in these heinous crimes should not be spared even if chief executive of the country seeks any leniency for them.
"Today's meeting expressed that the entire nation is standing behind their armed forces," PM Shehbaz asserted.
The meeting was attended by provincial chief ministers, federal ministers, services chiefs and other high officials.
