Ramazan moon sighted, Muslims to observe fasting on Thursday

Lahore (Staff Report): Muslim will observe first fasting on Thursday as the moon of holy month Ramazan has been sighted in Pakistan.

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee led by its chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman met on Wednesday evening for sighting of the Ramazan moon.

The meeting was held at the main office of the Meteorological Department where evidence of moon sighting was collected.

In Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the crescent was sighted on Tuesday. The month of Ramazan will begin on Thursday, May 17 in the two countries.
