Karachi (Staff Report): Sindh Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) today (Tuesday) has ordered Director General Rangers to arrest Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) - Pakistan leader, Farooq Sattar and others, adding that Rangers should present them before court till May 31.
Earlier on Tuesday, the court ordered DG Rangers, Muhammad Saeed, to arrest MQM-Pakistan leaders Farooq Sattar along with Amir Khan and other on-the-run accused in the incendiary speech case that involved attacking media houses in Karachi.
According to details, ATC issued the directive after the failed attempt of Karachi police to arrest the accused.
On August 22, the self-exiled MQM leader had incited party workers in his speech to participants of a hunger strike to take to the streets, vandalize property and ransack media houses.
At least one person died and eight others were injured in the ensuing violence.
The special public prosecutor stated that the accused individuals attacked media houses following the vitriolic speech by the MQM founder.
