Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the government is fully prepared to confront any challenge in light of the ongoing global tensions and the rapidly evolving international situation.
Chairing a high-level review meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister issued key directives aimed at maintaining economic stability, providing relief to the public, and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz informed participants that due to the government’s proactive planning and timely decision-making, the country currently holds adequate stocks of petroleum products.
He said that despite fluctuations in the international market, continuous fuel supply to consumers has been maintained.
Petroleum companies were strictly instructed to ensure the sale of fuel at officially notified prices and to maintain full transparency in their operations without any compromise.
During the briefing, officials also informed the meeting that modern technology is being utilized to monitor fuel prices and availability.
The informed that the citizens can now report shortages or overcharging directly to the authorities through the “Pak App,” enabling prompt action against any violations.
The prime minister also referred to the government’s ongoing austerity drive, noting that measures aimed at reducing expenditures have already been implemented.
To ensure transparency and the effective execution of these steps, he directed that a third-party audit be conducted so that the proper use of public funds can be verified.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, along with other federal ministers and senior officials.
The participants of the meeting also appreciated the prime minister’s decision last Friday to refrain from increasing petroleum prices despite global pressures.
