Rain, snowfall expected across Pakistan over next few days: PMD

Islamabad (Web Desk): According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a new spell of rain and snowfall is expected in various parts of the country over the next few days. The weather in Islamabad is likely to remain cold with partial cloud cover.

In the upper regions, areas such as Chitral, Malam Jabba, Swat, Dir, Kalam, and Battagram are forecast to experience rain, while Abbottabad, Kohistan, Malakand, and Mansehra are expected to witness rain along with thunderstorms.

Gilgit-Baltistan is also likely to experience rain and snowfall, with predictions for heavy snowfall in areas like Skardu, Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Astore, Diamer, Shigar, and Ganche.

The Meteorological Department stated that between 16th January and 23rd January, rain and snowfall are expected to continue in the upper areas of the country. Additionally, Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Rawalakot are also likely to experience rain and snow.

Further, the department has indicated that from 20th January, the intensity of rain and snowfall could increase, and from 21st January, much of the country could be affected by a powerful weather system, which may further intensify the weather conditions.
