Govt increases petrol price by Rs5, diesel by Rs7.32 per litre

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government on Sunday announced a fresh adjustment in petroleum prices, increasing the cost of both petrol and high-speed diesel for the next 15 days.

Under the new rates, petrol has become Rs5 per litre more expensive, taking its price from Rs253.17 to Rs258.17 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel has seen a larger jump of Rs7.32 per litre, with its price climbing from Rs268.38 to Rs275.70 per litre.

A notification issued by the Petroleum Division confirmed that these revised prices will come into force on February 16 and will stay effective for the upcoming two-week period.

During the last pricing review, the government had raised the price of high-speed diesel by Rs11.30 per litre, whereas the rate of petrol was maintained at its existing level for 15 days.
