Gujrat (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, criticizing the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), said that the people there are still “living in the Stone Age” and lack awareness of progress, while children are being influenced by violence and hatred, making development difficult.
Addressing a ceremony of distributing Honhaar Scholarships and laptops among students in Gujrat, emphasized that power comes and goes like “sand slipping through fingers,” but she reaffirmed her commitment to Punjab’s youth.
The Punjab CM promised that all resources in the province would be directed toward helping young people achieve their dreams. “Whatever dreams you have, I am here to provide all the resources for you,” she said.
Maryam highlighted scholarships, laptops, and other educational benefits being provided entirely on merit, emphasizing that no student receives favors through recommendations.
She praised Generation Z as Punjab’s future, calling 2026 “the year of youth,” and promised to ensure that young people have access to all facilities to build a better future.
The Punjab CM contrasted the situation in Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying children in the latter hold weapons and use abusive language, while Punjab’s youth receive scholarships, laptops, technical training, and free access to Green Buses for education.
She stated that she identifies first as a Pakistani, then as a Punjabi, and criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for failing to raise awareness.
The Punjab CM added that restricting routes in KP does not affect Punjab, and services like healthcare for Sindh patients continue uninterrupted.
