DPM Dar in UK on three-day official visit

London (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, reached the United Kingdom on Saturday to begin a three-day official visit from August 17 to 19, 2025.

During his stay, the foreign minister is set to hold high-level meetings with several prominent British officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Pakistan Hamish Falconer, Lord Wajid Khan, and the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

According to the Foreign Office (FO), the primary objective of the visit is to deepen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the UK, particularly in areas such as digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. Strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with the Commonwealth is also a central focus of the discussions.

In addition to official meetings, DPM Dar is expected to engage with British parliamentarians, Kashmiri community leaders, and members of the Pakistani diaspora.

DPM Dar visit includes a stop at the Pakistan High Commission in London, where he will inaugurate two new initiatives—a pilot programme led by the Punjab Land Record Authority and a One Window Operation launched by IMPASS.

These engagements are seen as part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance international partnerships and expand digital governance initiatives through strategic collaboration with key global stakeholders.
