Islamabad (Staff Report): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of National Security Council to discuss different issues pertaining to security and border management.
Under the new prime minister, this is the first meeting, attended by high-level civil and military leadership at Prime Minister House.
During the meeting, foreign secretary briefed the participants about her recent visit to Afghanistan. She also informed about reservations presented by Afghan leadership during the meeting.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah and Inter Services Intelligence Director General Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, among others were present in the meeting.
Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Tehmina Janjua and other senior officials are also attending the moot.
