Islamabad (Staff Report): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request to discontinue party’s foreign funding case and directed it to submit entire details of accounts by September 7.

A five-member bench of the ECP headed by the chief election commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard a petition filed by Akbar S. Babar regarding PTI’s foreign funding.

PTI counsel Anwar Masood request the commission to discontinue of the case till the verdict of Supreme Court (SC), stating as a similar case is being heard in the apex court and ECP is also a respondent in the case.

After hearing the arguments, the CEC made it clear in the short order that it is last chance for PTI to submit the details pertaining to party’s funding.
