Tehran (Web Desk): A significant diplomatic development has emerged with Pakistan playing a mediating role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States.
Iran has confirmed that the second round of negotiations with the US will also take place in Islamabad, where key issues including a potential ceasefire and the lifting of economic sanctions will be discussed.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said in a media briefing that recent contacts held in Islamabad focused on three main demands: establishing a lasting ceasefire to reduce regional tensions, removing economic sanctions imposed on Iran, and addressing damages incurred during periods of escalation.
Rejecting Western allegations, the spokesperson reiterated that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons. He dismissed claims suggesting that Iran could develop a nuclear bomb within days as “propaganda,” stressing that Iran’s nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.
Baghaei praised Pakistan’s role as “historic and highly constructive,” noting that Islamabad has been facilitating continuous communication and message exchanges between Iran and the United States.
He added that Pakistan is being viewed as a trusted and suitable venue for ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and regional stability.
