Islamabad (Web Desk): Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has commended Pakistan for steadily advancing its economic reform agenda.
She shared these remarks during a meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings held in Washington, DC, noting that the country’s consistent and effective execution of reforms has played a key role in preserving macroeconomic stability while also strengthening the confidence of investors.
Separately, the finance minister also engaged with senior representatives of Franklin Templeton in Washington, DC, where he briefed them on the government’s ongoing efforts to privatize state-owned entities.
During the discussion, he outlined plans related to the outsourcing of major airports, including Islamabad International Airport, Jinnah International Airport, and Sialkot International Airport, along with initiatives aimed at transferring electricity distribution companies to private management.
