Islamabad (Web Desk): The Federal Constitutional Court has sought records of all cases concerning the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to a hospital, along with other matters of a similar nature.
A three-member bench of the Federal Constitutional Court was hearing appeals filed by three prisoners challenging a High Court decision that allowed the provision of medical treatment and healthcare facilities to PTI founder Imran Khan at a private hospital.
During the proceedings, the court accepted the appeals filed by the three prisoners and directed the relevant courts to submit complete records of the cases.
The Federal Constitutional Court also sought records from the Supreme Court relating to contempt of court proceedings, petitions concerning hospital transfers and review applications linked to such matters.
In addition, the court directed all High Courts to provide records of cases of a similar nature, including matters that are currently pending as well as those that have already been decided.
According to the Federal Constitutional Court, all cases connected with the hospital transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan will now be heard by the constitutional court.
The court’s decision to call for records is aimed at examining the legal proceedings and decisions in cases involving hospital transfers and the provision of medical facilities to prisoners.
