Wana (Web Desk/Agencies): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Cadet College Wana on Saturday to personally witness the aftermath of a recently foiled militant attack that had targeted students and staff.
He was warmly received by Major General Mehr Umar Khan, Inspector General of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South).
During his visit, Naqvi met with the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps personnel who had confronted the attackers and ensured the safe evacuation of every cadet and teacher. He also spent time with students and faculty, acknowledging their courage and resilience in the face of the terrifying incident.
Officials provided him with a detailed account of how the operation unfolded, explaining how the militants’ assault was stopped and how all individuals were safely rescued without any casualties.
The interior minister praised the security forces for their swift, disciplined, and highly professional response, calling their actions a shining example of bravery and skill.
He strongly condemned the attackers, calling them “beasts with no trace of humanity,” and emphasized that no religion condones violence against children. “To call them human would be an insult to humanity,” he said.
The minister noted that the militants intended to recreate a tragedy similar to the Army Public School attack, but the prompt action of the security forces “sent them to hell and shattered their plan.”
He declared all officers and soldiers involved in the operation national heroes and announced plans to fully renovate and restore Cadet College Wana.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to safety, Naqvi assured that the state would continue to stand firmly alongside the armed forces and work tirelessly to protect educational institutions across the region.
