Justice Sajjad Ali Shah takes oath as SC judge, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh becomes SHC chief justice

Islamabad/Karachi (Reuters): Justice Sajjad Ali Shah has taken oath as Supreme Court (SC) judge.

Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice Saqib Nisar administrated the oath. The oath taking ceremony was held at Supreme Court premises in Islamabad, which was attended by senior lawyers, judges, and attorney general of Pakistan.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah had joined the legal profession in 1985 and practiced at bar for 20 years before being elevated to the bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Oct 24, 2005.

Justice Shah also remained as honorary lecturer in S.M. Law College Karachi from 1995 till elevation to the bench. He was appointed as standing council for Government of Pakistan in 2002 and thereafter as deputy attorney general for the Government of Pakistan in 2004.

Meanwhile, Sindh High Court (SHC) judge Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh also took oath as SHC chief justice.

Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair administrated the oath.
