Mecca: Hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims from around the world on Saturday performed Rukn-e-Azm, Hajj “Waqoof-e-Arafat” which marks climax of the Hajj.
Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque of Mecca Dr. Maher bin Hamad delivered the Hajj sermon at Masjid-e-Nimra, urging Ummah to forge unity and cohesion among their ranks.
The Imam said, “Almighty Allah is one in His Self. The Oneness of Allah and the Prophet Hood of Muhammad (PBUH) is the fundamental tenet of Islam. Allah has sent Muhammad (PBUH) as the Rehmat-ul-lil- Aalameen for the universe. A man should opt for the way of Taqwah as this is the only way to success and prosperity.”
He cautioned the Muslims about deceiving nature of this temporary worldly life. “He who opts Taqwah will be forgiven for his mistakes and granted Rizq (Livelihood) from means he would never have imagined”, he emphasised.
After the sermon, Hajj pilgrims will stay till Maghreb prayer here and then they will move towards Muzdalifah. Upon sunset, they will then head to Muzdalifah to spend night in open sky and collect pebbles for the symbolic stoning of the devil ritual.
After the stay at Muzdalifah, the Hujjaj will perform the stoning of the devil on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah.
The Pilgrims are praying from Allah Almighty for forgiveness of their sins.
