Lahore (Web Desk): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) teams on Saturday raided the offices of Sharif family-owned businesses in Lahore.
According to NAB officials, benami companies allegedly involved in money laundering were being operated from the office at 55-K, Model Town.
They said the bureau was looking for record pertaining to Unitas, Waqar Trading and other companies.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed that the NAB officials raided the offices.
"Nab officials raided the offices located at 55-K and F-91 in Model Town today, around 12:30pm", the PML-N spokesperson said.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that during the past 18 months, the anti-graft body failed to prove any corruption against the Sharif family.
She added that the Nab officials do not give any notice prior to conducting raids.
The PML-N spokesperson said that the Nab should also raid the mills belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf (PTI) leaders Khusro Bakhtiar and Jahangir Tareen.
On December 26, 2019, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team had also raided PML-N’s Central Secretariat situated in Lahore's Model Town.
The raid was carried out to confiscate record in connection with the video scandal of former accountability court judge Arshad Malik.
PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar was summoned at the FIA’s Lahore office to record his statement in this regard.
