Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has strongly condemned the deadly attack on United Nations (UN) peacekeeping personnel in Kadugli, Sudan, which led to the tragic death of six peacekeepers from Bangladesh and left several others injured.
In a statement, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi conveyed Pakistan’s profound sorrow over the loss and offered sincere condolences to the Bangladeshi leadership and nation, while expressing full solidarity with the families mourning their loved ones in this moment of grief.
He remarked that UN peacekeepers continue to serve on the front lines of global peace efforts, working to prevent conflicts, protect innocent civilians, and uphold stability while operating under the UN flag.
The FO spokesperson also paid tribute to the fallen Blue Helmets, acknowledging their selfless sacrifice for peace in the region.
The spokesperson stressed the need for an immediate and thorough probe into the incident to identify those responsible for the attack and ensure they are held to account.
“Pakistan will also continue to work closely with members of the UN Security Council and the international community to ensure the safety and security of all UN peacekeepers,” the FO spokesperson said.
