Gaza: Dozens of injured people are arriving at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis after the Israeli military bombed a UNRWA school in the southern city.

Several strikes have also targeted the centre and north of Khan Younis city and are ongoing in the city.

According to Al Jazeera, at least 10 people have been killed since dawn, including four children.

The Israeli military says it has carried out an attack in the border area between Gaza and Egypt.

Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on X that the strike targeted Hamas military infrastructure that the group had placed near the border. He accused Hamas of smuggling weapons through the Rafah border, the only crossing where a limited amount of aid is allowed to enter the besieged Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, family members of captives in Gaza have met UN Chief Antonio Guterres in a tense encounter, criticising him for his comments on the October 7 attack and his failure to visit Israel since the start of the war.

The UN senior official came under fire by Israel for saying that the assault into southern Israel did “not happen in a vacuum”, referring to Israel’s decades-long occupation.

In response, Guterres stressed once again that there was no justification for the Hamas attack and that he made overtures for a visit to Israel, but that he did not receive a response from the Israeli government.
