Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday held two separate meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
According to sources, during the meeting with former premier, matters regarding political situation and dissolving of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
The development came a day after Imran Khan announced that he would announce the date of dissolving Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies on December 17 (Saturday) during his public gathering at Liberty Chowk.
Later the day, Dr Alvi reached Punjab CM Office to hold a meeting with Elahi.
On Thursday, President Dr Arif Alvi met two senior ministers — Ayaz Sadiq and Azam Tararto in a bid to bridge the thorny gulf between the government and the opposition.
Earlier, Dr Alvi hoped that newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir would help reduce the trust deficit among institutions.
