Karachi (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday said that its Sindh president and former federal minister Ali Haider Zaidi was arrested by Sindh police from the party’s provincial secretariat in Karachi.
Confirming the development on his Twitter handle, PTI leader Farrukh Habib claimed that the police took Zaidi into custody from the party’s Sindh office.
As per the party’s provincial media department, Zaidi was arrested from the PTI Secretariat without a warrant.
Meanwhile, video posted on PTI’s official Twitter account showed a man, thought to be Zaidi, being escorted into a white automobile by men in civvies surrounded by uniformed police personnel.
However, no statement in this regard has been made by the Sindh government or the police so far.
Condemning the arrest in a tweet, PTI Chairman Imran Khan wrote “All part of the London Plan where Nawaz given assurances PTI would be crushed.”
He said that over 3000 PTI workers have been arrested, abducted or terrorized so far.
“Ali Amin & now Ali Zaidi abducted. A new plan underway for more,” the PTI chief added.
