Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari, at a grand investiture ceremony at the at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Thursday, conferred military awards on officers and soldiers in recognition of their courage, sacrifices, and outstanding contributions in service to the country.
During the event, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat Shaheed was posthumously honoured with the Sitara-e-Basalat, with the award received by his family. Sepoy Soban Majeed Baloch Shaheed was also awarded the Sitara-e-Basalat for laying down his life in defence of the nation, while Sepoy Israr Muhammad earned the same honour for displaying extraordinary courage.
Air Marshal Kashif Qamar received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) in recognition of his exceptional professional achievements. Air Marshal Amir Shehzad and Major General Muhammad Shahid Abro were likewise decorated with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) for their distinguished services to the country. Major General Sibtain Rafiq was also among those honoured with the award for his outstanding contributions.
The Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) was conferred upon Rear Admiral Mazhar Mahmood Malik, Major General Malik Maqbool Raza, Air Vice Marshal Shahid Mansoor Jahangiri, Air Vice Marshal Khalid Mahmood and Major General Ejaz Ahmad in appreciation of their notable national service.
Additionally, Rear Admiral Rizwan Sadiq, Major General Malik Muhammad Shehzad, Major General Amir Ashfaq Kiani, Air Vice Marshal Tahir Mahmood, Major General Qaisar Suleman, Major General Umar Naseem and Major General Luqman Hafeez were honoured with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) for their exemplary performance and dedicated service to the nation.
