Islamabad (Web Desk): The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) has categorically dismissed propaganda made by the Afghan Taliban regime regarding the seizure of Pakistani border posts and alleged casualties, labeling them as a “bundle of falsehoods.”
According to an official statement from the ministry, the so-called claims by the Taliban’s self-styled Ministry of Defense are entirely baseless and appear to be fabricated solely to mislead domestic public opinion in Afghanistan.
The statement emphasized that these narratives are being propagated under the influence of elements linked to terrorist sponsors and form part of a proxy campaign against Pakistan.
“Two rudimentary drones of terrorist FAK, nurtured by Afghan Taliban regime, were successfully intercepted by the Pakistan security forces using electronic counter measures. No military or other infrastructure was hit, other than minor damage due to debris of the forced crashing of drones,” said the MoIB while giving a reality check to the official account of the so-called Imarat-e-Islami of Afghan Taliban regime on X formerly twitter.
“The Taliban regime claim includes no verifiable evidence as always, however fully exposes its established role as Master Proxy of terrorism harbouring and supporting multiple terrorist organisations such as Indian proxies FAK and FAH,” the MoIB added.
“Taliban regime official accounts including this so called Ministry of Defence account are known to regularly proliferate fake news and propaganda including recent frivolous claims of shooting down Pakistan AirForce aircraft and capturing of pilots which they unashamedly later deleted,” it maintained.
“Truth always triumphs over falsehood,” the MoIB maintained.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday lauded his ministry for its consistent efforts to counter misinformation circulated by the Afghan Taliban across social media platforms.
His statement came in the wake of a recent clarification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan in response to claims shared by official Taliban-linked social media accounts.
In a post shared on his social media platform X, Tarar wrote that another false claim by the Afghan Taliban had been exposed by the MoIB Fact Checker, adding that such allegations lack any foundation.
“On the other hand, all the damages and losses being incurred by the Afghan Taliban and their extension, Fitna Al Khawarij are updated by Ministry of Information with irrefutable pictorial and video evidence regularly,” he noted.
