Islamabad (Staff Report): The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Wednesday observed that the Supreme Court SC’s HR Cell has received another letter from Rao Anwar but it is not clear whether it is authentic or not.
According to details, the statement of the received letter demands the restoration of the bank accounts of the Rao Anwar however, the authenticity of the letter is yet being suspected.
The letter also stated that I (Rao Anwar) am getting police reports but case procedure is very slow.
The CJP inquired whether Anwar is under political shelter.
IG Sindh said, being a responsible officer, he cannot comment whether Rao was under any political protection but assured the bench that the fugitive was not in Sindh.
Later during today’s hearing of Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar ordered an in-camera briefing of the Islamabad airport CCTV footage at the Karachi Registry on March 16.
Anwar is wanted for the extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud in an alleged staged encounter.
IG Sindh stated that 10 other Sindh police officers were also on a run and have still not been traced.
