Lahore (Web Desk): The thirteenth death anniversary of the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in the world, Arfa Karim Randhawa, was observed on Tuesday.
Arfa achieved global recognition when she became the youngest person ever to be certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional at just nine years old in 2004. This incredible accomplishment made her an inspiration to millions.
Born on February 2, 1995, in a small village near Faisalabad, Pakistan, Arfa’s passion for technology emerged early in her life.
At the age of 10, she was invited by Bill Gates to visit Microsoft’s headquarters in the United States (US), a rare honour for someone so young.
During her short life, Arfa’s brilliance was acknowledged through numerous awards, including the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in 2005 for her contributions to science and technology. The same year, she was also awarded the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award, solidifying her status as a role model for young people worldwide.
Despite her young age, Arfa’s accomplishments were significant, and she received the Pride of Performance award as a tribute to her extraordinary achievements.
She died on 14th January 14, 2012, at the age of sixteen, following a cardiac arrest.
Arfa’s untimely death was a great loss, but her legacy lives on as a symbol of intelligence, determination, and the boundless possibilities that technology offers to those with the courage to pursue it.
