Karachi (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has claimed that around $100 billion have been transferred out of Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), he said that if the business community brings back even 30% of that capital, it could significantly improve the country’s economic situation.
"If the business community makes a decision now, around $10 billion could be brought into the country before the next budget," the minister said.
He also mentioned special facilities for businessmen, stating that a proposal for issuing a separate passport for business personalities is under consideration. He added that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will be made completely business-friendly to ease operations for traders.
Naqvi said the government is committed to restoring confidence of the business community and creating a supportive investment environment.
The interior minister termed the upcoming budget as one of the most important in the country’s history, adding that Pakistan offers significant investment opportunities that must be utilized for economic improvement.
