Islamabad (Web Desk): An in-camera sitting of the National Assembly (NA) on Pakistan's prevailing security situation was held on Friday.
The top military leadership gave a briefing during the session, which was chaired by NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
As per a National Assembly Secretariat notice, the agenda of the meeting was “riefing on current issues of the National Security”.
Federal ministers, the advisers and MNAs, federal secretaries including interior, foreign affairs, finance, defense and information as well as the four provincial chief secretaries and inspector generals of police IGPs) were invited to attend the meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stated that the members of the National Assembly (MNAs) would be given an in-camera briefing on the matters of the National Security on Friday.
While responding to a point raised by a parliamentarian from Waziristan, the premier said that during the in-camera briefing, the parliamentarians would also be able to put their respective questions on the relevant subject.
He assured the MNA that all of his reservations would be listened and responded positively to satisfy his concerns.
