Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced immediate relief for flood-affected areas by suspending the collection of electricity bills for the month of August.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister to review the situation of electricity billing in regions impacted by the recent floods.
According to official sources, the Prime Minister directed power distribution companies to halt bill collection in all affected districts to ease the financial burden on residents.
He further stated that a comprehensive electricity bill relief package would be officially announced after finalizing arrangements with the IMF. Additionally, for consumers who have already paid their August bills, the amount will be adjusted in the following month’s billing cycle.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that the recent floods have impacted millions across the country, and both federal and provincial authorities will continue their rehabilitation efforts until full recovery is achieved.
“We will not rest until every flood victim has returned home safely,” the Prime Minister reaffirmed.
