Karachi (Web Desk): Pakistan Women's beach volleyball team secured their first-ever international win against Kazakhstan in the Central Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, at Cox’s Bazar Beach, Bangladesh.
Despite facing a setback at initial stage, with Kazakh team took an early lead by winning the first set with a score of 21-11, Pakistan team still managed to claim a remarkable 2-1 victory.
The Girls in Green, comprised of the talented duo Azra Farooq and Muqaddas Bukhari, made a stunning comeback with remarkable display of resilience and determination in the second round.
In thrilling second set, Pakistan outperformed Kazakhstan with a score of 14-21, levelling the match. The tension continued in the decisive third set, where Pakistan finished the match with a score of 13-15, securing their historic win.
The team is now preparing for their second match against Uzbekistan, set to take place this evening, in hopes of forwarding their remarkable journey in the Central Asia Championship.
The event is being held at Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh and will conclude on 15th September. Other than the hosts Bangladesh and Pakistan, teams from India, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the event.
