Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Six soldiers and a civilian embraced martyrdom during a clearance operation at a Frontier Corps (FC) compound in the Muslim Bagh area of northern Balochistan, the military's media wing stated on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) security forces have completed clearance operation at the FC compound as all the six terrorists were killed.
The military’s media wing said the clearance operation also involved rescue of hostages as well as saving three families from a residential block. It added that the terrorists had not even spared children of their horrendous approach.
"In the process of clearance operation, seven sons of the soil including a civilian embraced martyrdom while another six individuals including a woman sustained injuries," the ISPR said.
The statement said that necessary intelligence follow-up will continue to trace their linkages and arrest the facilitators and expose their sponsors.
"The security forces remain determined to thwart all attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan," the ISPR said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over shahadat of six Jawans of Pakistan army and a civilian during an operation against terrorists in FC compound, Muslim Bagh areas of Balochistan.
According to a statement by Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Media Wing, the prime minister prayed for the high ranks of the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
The prime minister said that the armed forces of Pakistan were fully committed to eradicate terrorism and the entire nation was standing with their security forces.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured people and directed for provision of all available medical treatment to them.
