New York (Web Desk): Pakistan has reaffirmed its support for resolving the Iran nuclear issue through peaceful and diplomatic channels.

This stance was highlighted by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, while speaking during a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) briefing of the 1737 Committee related to Iran.

During the session, the Pakistani envoy stressed that constructive diplomacy and sustained dialogue must remain the central approach for reaching a mutually agreed solution.

He noted that any settlement of outstanding disputes should be achieved through negotiations that respect the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties involved.

Asim Iftikhar Ahmad also appealed for an immediate end to the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East.

The Pakistani envoy called on all sides to exercise the highest level of restraint, avoid actions that could further intensify tensions, work towards establishing a durable ceasefire, and resume dialogue to restore peace and stability in the region.
