Islamabad (Web Desk): The security forces on Thursday foiled a terrorist attack at a security checkpost and killed at least 10 terrorists in Jandola area of Khyber Pakhtunkawa’s (KP) Tank district.

According to security sources, the attack, which occurred near the FC camp in Jandola, involved a suicide bomber who detonated himself in an attempt to breach the area.

Following the explosion, intense gunfire could be heard, signaling the violent clash between the militants and security forces.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his appreciation for the swift and effective response of the security personnel, acknowledging their role in eliminating the attackers and ensuring the safety of the region.

“I salute the security forces for foiling the attack,” he said and commended them for bringing 10 terrorists to “an exemplary end,” he said.

“The nation is proud of the professional capabilities of the security forces and stands by them” in their efforts to eliminate terrorists, Naqvi added.

The interior minister reiterated that the people of Pakistan are fully behind the armed forces in their fight against terrorism.

This violent episode came just a day after another major confrontation in Balochistan, where security forces successfully neutralized the 33 militants who had hijacked the Jaffar Express train.

The attackers, part of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), had blown up the rail tracks and opened fire on the train as it traveled from Quetta to Peshawar.

During the standoff, 21 hostages lost their lives, and four security officers were martyred in the ensuing battle. The situation remains tense in the region, with both militant and security forces engaged in ongoing conflict.
